Growing up, Ron loved to spend time outside; camping, fishing, boating, and playing with fast cars. Many of these hobbies followed Ron into adulthood. His best friend, Carl, was often at his side.
Ron attended South Salem High School, and after graduation, moved on to Oregon State University.
In 1981, he met the love of his life, Sharon (Burger) Neufeld, to whom he remained married to for 42 years.
Ron’s professional life revolved around the construction trade. He started as a “helper” to framing crews at a young age. He would eventually work his way up through the industry to ultimately become a project manager for a large commercial construction firm. Ron also used his knowledge of the building trade to put pen to paper and design homes and buildings.
Ron will forever be remembered as an honest and fair man with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Many would seek Ron out for advice and guidance. Those who knew him, knew a man who could be 100% serious one minute, and then transition to general conversation with a quick one liner.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Victoria. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two daughters, Amy (Zach) Leigh and Kristin Neufeld; granddaughter, Peyton; and his sister Cindy (Pete) Belcher.
Per Ron’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Donations may be made to the Oregon Humane Society in his honor.
