

Rosalia (Plechl) Redelsperger was born to Johann and Josefina (Stepischnegg) Plechl November 10, 1935 in Novi Slankeman Yugoslavia. After growing up against the backdrop of World War II, she emigrated to Lebanon, Oregon in 1955. She worked for the Vollum family in Portland for a time before meeting her future husband Rene at a dance. They were married June 23rd 1956 at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Salem. Rosi and Rene lived in Forest Grove until Rene’s job took them to Eugene for seven years before moving back to Forest Grove in 1967. In that time they had three children. In 1978 they moved once again this time to Salem where they would remain. Rosi enjoyed cooking, baking, working in her yard, entertaining and spending time with her family. She took great pride in her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. Rosi died March 27, 2025 at the age of 89 shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband Rene. She is survived by her three children: Rene John (Leisa) of Forest Grove, Anthony James of Salem and Stephanie Ann Barth (William) of Salem, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as her brother John Plechl of Salem and her sister Maria Erwinger of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary for Rosalia will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4227 Lone Oak Rd SE, Salem, Oregon 97302, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM.
