Shea Keeney was born October 25, 1991 at Salem Hospital to Michael and Sally Keeney and grew up in West Salem. Shea attended Brush College School, Walker Middle School and West Salem High School, from which he graduated in 2010. He was planning to start college this winter.
Shea loved sports and despite limitations caused by his ventricular tachycardia, he participated in sports his entire life, including baseball, basketball and soccer. His favorite was golf. He also loved music, movies and the Portland Trailblazers.
Shea is survived by his parents, Michael Keeney and Sally Carmody Keeney; his brothers, Ty Keeney and Dylan Carmody; his maternal grandparents, Clayton (Bus) Carmody and Pat Carmody; his paternal grandmother, Ethelmay (Mickey) Keeney; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Viewing will be Friday, Sept. 16 from 6 to 7:30 pm, a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 pm, followed by a Rosary, all at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Funeral Home in Salem, Oregon. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salem, Oregon.
