

She was a Mount Angel Academy graduate. Shirley met the love of her life, Ordin “Sandy” Sandver, on a blind date and they were married on her birthday in 1950. From then on she would call herself “Shirley Ann a little bit Miller Sandver.” She is survived by their six children: Sharen Hughes, Jerry (Donna) Sandver, Colleen Sandver, Dean (Beth) Sandver, Marilyn Armstrong and Doug Sandver. She is also survived by her sister, Patty Prather, and Patty’s son, Jim (Lindsey) Prather. Shirley has 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her dear Sandy.
Shirley was a devout Catholic who belonged to Saint Joseph’s Church and never wavered in her commitment to God. She loved her family above all else and enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and gardening. On any given summer’s day, Shirley would enjoy hosting her family on her patio filled with her beautiful flower creations. She also enjoyed camping and fishing as often as she could.
A Mass of Christian Brial will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 1:30pm. A Private Interment will follow. Donations can be made to Boys Town or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Howell Edwards Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Home.
