Thomas C. Golden

Tom, a native Salemite, was born on July 9, 1934 and passed away on Feb. 20, 2025. Tom grew up on Fairmount Hill, moving with his parents, Virgil & Grace, to the “country” on Hansen Ave. S, before moving to their living quarters above the funeral home in 1949. He attended McKinley Grade School, Leslie Junior High School and graduated from Salem High School. He served in the US Army in Korea.

Tom loved his community and served on many many boards. In 1995 he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Salem Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed the outdoors, photography and Airstreaming.

He was loved and respected by all of his family. He is survived by his wife Ethelwyne, son Tom (Deena), daughter Ann. Grandchildren Katrina (Louie), Tommy (Hollie) and David. Great grandchildren Sadie, Parker, Connor, Griffin, Kohl, Penny and Gavin. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Lee.

Memorial Services will be at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service on March 15th at 2:00pm. Private family burial will be a Belcrest Memorial Park.
