

Val Jean Beugli, age 91 ½, passed away with a smile on her face, at her home on January 10th while surrounded by her loving family. Val Jean was born in Alma, Nebraska to Norwood and Mildred Gosnell. She graduated from Salem High School in 1952 and lived most of her life in West Salem. Val Jean graduated from the Patricia Lee Modeling School in 1954 and was a professional model for many years.
Val Jean married Howard Beugli(Hal) in 1955 and they were married almost 50 wonderful years before Hal passed away in 2004. Val remarried to Harry Pease in 2010 and shared many great years together.
She had many interesting careers and interests throughout her life. Val was a licensed realtor, a Family Daycare certified and a licensed hearing aid specialist. She was a homemaker who threw elaborate parties. Val Jean was active and took on leadership roles with many organizations including Order of the Amaranth, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Daughters of the Nile, Keizer area senior center and the John Knox Presbyterian Church. She loved to travel the world with Hal, enjoyed many trips to Reno and Las Vegas and felt at peace in Lincoln City with a view of the ocean.
Most important to Val Jean was her family and friends. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and joyful happy spirit. When 5 p.m. rolled around she would shout with glee “HAPPY HOUR”. Then she would raise her wine cooler to bless the day. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Shurley, her husbands Howard and Harry and her daughter Diana Templeton. She is survived by her son Daniel Beugli (Nora), her daughter from San Diego Dwynn Famalette-Thomas(John), her daughter Jana Bayliss(Joe), her son in law Jeff Templeton(Barb), her step daughters Trina(Dan), Charon McDonald(Nick), seven grandchildren, eleven great grand children and many nieces and nephews.
Val Jean was loved by her family, her old friends and her new friends at Emerald Pointe Retirement Home. A celebration of life will be held a Virgil T Goldens Funeral Home at 605 Commercial St SE on January 25th at 1 p.m.
