Virginia Ann Roy, age 87 of Salem, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, surrounded by friends and family. Her parents and sister were native Bostonians, Joseph Howard and Mary Lillian Vaughan, and sister Sylvia Vaughan.
Virginia lived a vibrant, eclectic, and full life. She worked for AT&T upon graduation from high school in Massachusetts. She then began her career as a real estate agent, shoe shop owner, dating service innovator, and ended her career as a Property Manager for Princeton Property in Salem, Oregon. Virginia resided in Massachusetts, Kansas City, and Salem, Oregon.
She is survived by her 4 children, Robert Eugene Roy and his life partner Sally, Lawrence Vaughan Roy, Joseph Howard Roy and his wife Trina, and Jennifer Mary Webster and her husband Eric. She also has 11 grandchildren: Alex, Chris, Jacquelyn, Marissa, Aaron, Heather, Ethan, Mary, Abbie, Sean, and Rylan.
To know Virginia is to love Virginia. She always had a warm and welcoming smile, wanted to know a person and their entire family, was generous with everything she had, and loved all that surrounded her. You may have seen her at many events and activities in Salem wearing leopard print outfits and jackets, and sporting dynamic braids. It is clear to say that she was adored and will be greatly missed!
