1943-2011
My brother, good friend, loving uncle and great uncle Charles (Chad) Marcus, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2011. Chad was a renaissance man. He enjoyed science, electronics, computers and computer programming. His expansive knowledge of many subjects was always entertaining. Chad was born in Ann Arbor Michigan, April 12, 1943. Our parents, Dr. Stanley Marcus and Harriet Marcus preceded Chad in death by only a few short years. While my brother’s life was difficult, he became close and involved with our family in the later years of his life. Holidays were always important to Chad and he never failed to give his nieces and nephews a five dollar bill at Christmas. Chad was a competitive swimmer in High School and at the University of Washington. His love for swimming carried over to the later years of his live. My brother and I enjoyed swimming together three times a week and “solving the world’s problems” over lunch. I will miss him deeply. Chad is survived by his Brother Rand and Rand’s wife Karen, his Uncle Lyn Marcus, five nephews, six great nephews, and three great nieces. Our family wishes to express their thanks to the loving staff of St. Mark’s hospital for their attentive care and compassion. At Chad’s request, there will be no service. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the organization of your choice. Chad, you are at peace now. Swim with angels.
