Daniel A Jensen

10 septembre 195911 octobre 2020

Daniel A. Jensen, 61, passed on in his earthly home from a diabetic coma. Now he joins our loved ones in his heavenly home.

Daniel was born in Murray, UT on September 10th, 1959 to Robert B. Jensen and Carol Ainscough. He was the fourth of their five children. Dan grew up in West Jordan where he attended grade school and worked on the family dairy farm, graduating from Bingham High School in 1977. He attended Utah State University for one year before serving an LDS Mission in the Dearborn, Michigan Mission from 1979-1980. Daniel married Linda Steiner in spring of 1981 in the Salt Lake Temple and were blessed with three loving children, Andrea Rebecca, Rachel Alene, and Zachary Ryan. Dan joined the Army in 1982 to fulfill his patriotic duty and longing to serve his country, moving his little family to Ft. Carson, CO. and eventually, Schwabach, West Germany. His military career ended in 1987, when he came back to help on the dairy farm, now in Heyburn, ID, after the death of his father. Dan and Linda later divorced in 1991. The next year Dan met Margarita Hernandez and they married in fall of 1992 in the Jordan River Temple, and were blessed with two more beautiful daughters, Valerie and Bethany.

Dan was an aviation enthusiast and would always name any aircraft as it flew by, also sharing many stories with his children of his military service. Whenever we would ask him what he wanted for his birthday or for Christmas, his answer was always; “obedient children”.

Dad enjoyed traveling around the country especially with his family and on many occasions had us listen to Rush Limbaugh and many other political commentators. He became a member of the tea party and often attended Heyburn City council meetings. After the sale of the dairy farm, Dan worked as a truck driver. Unfortunately, after a trucking accident, Dan’s mental health was greatly altered, leading to the end of his second marriage in 2014. He then spent the last six years of his life as a minimalist, keeping to himself, only venturing out when his kids came to visit him, for a quick meal, or to the local movie theater. Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Jensen, and his eldest daughter, Andrea Rebecca Jensen Hall. Daniel is survived by his mother; Carol Jensen Palmer of Riverton, UT – Siblings; Scott (Anita) Jensen of Paul, ID, Sharlet Golesh of Hillsboro, OR, Shelley (Bob) Locke of Lacey, WA, Sarah Jensen of Riverton, UT - Children; Rachel Jensen of South Salt Lake, UT, Zachary Jensen of South Salt Lake, UT, Valerie (Stephen) Merrill of Warner Robins, GA, Bethany (Jaron) Smith of Twin Falls, ID - Grandchildren; Alexis Breanne, Blake Glenn, Raymond Daniel, and Maisy Jae.

The Lorin and Joan Anderson family are saddened by the news of Danny's passing. We have many fond memories of driving down to West Jordan and spending time with Aunt Carol and Uncle Bob and the cousins. It was many of our first experience of what real farm life is like. We would get up with Scott and Danny to watch the milking of the cows and feeding the calves from bottles. One day we will meet again under wonderful circumstances. Our thoughts, prayers, and love go out to the family.

I took care of Danny when Carol and Bob took the older three children on a camping trip. He was such a sweet and lovable child. We took him to Heber to my in-laws. They enjoyed him also. Many good memories XOXO. I hope he is at peace now. l Love Aunt Maxine

I'm very sorry for the passing of Dan. I’m a younger cousin. I had always thought Dan was so handsome. And he had a very good personality. Aunt Carol and family very sorry for your loss.
