

Originally from California he was born Woodland May 10th 1958, and raised in the small town of Winters by his late parents Agapito and Ignacia Aguirre. After high school Gilbert joined the Marine´s Reserves in 1977 to 1978 . He then went on to become a Truck Driver where he drove throughout the West coast and across the Midwest states in his Peterbilt.
He eventually settled in Salt Lake City and then in Stansbury Park for the last 15 years. He worked in Waste Management as a driver for multiple companies including BFI, ACE and lastly for the city of Salt Lake City. He took great pride in driving his trucks and was particular of always keeping them immaculately clean and all chrome extra shiny. He was very popular with all his colleagues and developed great friendships.
His main love was his Harley Davidson motorcycle; it was his pride and joy and spent hours cleaning it before each ride, if it wasn´t sparkling he wasn´t done polishing it. He had a large group of friends who all rode together on the weekends. He also devoted time and money to supporting Charity rides for many fallen motorcycle friends and his community. Gilbert has always has a big heart and never hesitated in helping friends or even strangers.
Gilbert was one of those characters that you never forgot when you met him he always left a lasting impression on people and never failed to make you laugh. He loved life, living to his fullest and although he has passed, he died at the end of a great ride that day and the family knows that he would have been happy.
He leaves behind three sisters, Susana, Elsa and Brunilda, along with his three beloved grown children Estrella, Crystal, and Gilbert Jr., and three precious grandchildren. He loved all of them and cherished the times when talked and met up with them.
His ex-wife Claudia and his current girlfriend Diane were also in his life and they supported him in his everyday life.
A memorial service (open to the public) will be held on Friday October 24th, 2014 at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, Salt Lake City Utah 84102 at 3pm. Afterwards a gathering of friends will be held at the Copper King Bar, 9071 West 2700 South, Magna Utah 84044.
A private family service will then be held in his hometown of Winters California where his ashes will be laid to rest between both of his parents graves at the Winters Cemetery on Saturday October 25th 2014 at 11am in a private family service.
An additional memorial service has already been held on Sunday October 19th 2014 in Winters California where all his hometown friends gathered to celebrate his life ´Chico´ style.
