“One Gorgeous Swede”
Our beautiful Swedish mother, Inga-Lill Grytberg Reese, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on December 12, 2010.
Born May 11, 1926 in Stockholm, Sweden, to Selma Alida Nilsson and Leo Grytberg. Selma later married Sven Gustav Anderson and together they raised Inga-Lill until she married Trolle Rhodin - later divorced.
Inga-Lill migrated to Salt Lake City in 1950 where she married Judge Leonard William Elton in April, 1951. They were married for 19 years until the death of Judge Elton in 1970. Fortunate in love, Inga-Lill met Clarence Walter Reese. They were married for 31 years, from September 1972 until his death in 2003.
Inga-Lill is survived by her daughters Shanni Staker (Gary), Claire Davis (Bud), Rosemarie Milne (Duane), Rosalie Henriod (Jerry), Roberta Asahina (Bernie), Rebecca Jacoby (Robert), Kristin Winder (Don), and Tina Waters (Blake), 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by son Michael Allen Elton, and grandsons Steven Gary Staker and Clinton William Waters.
She was a dignified and classy woman who was also a fun-loving mother and friend. Inga-Lill naturally embraced everyone she met in the three countries where she lived: Sweden, America, and also Mexico, where she and Clarence enjoyed a winter home on the Sea of Cortez.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah, at 11:00 am. Family and friends are invited to visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.evans-earlymortuary.com.
