Dear Audrey,
I just came upon Jesse's obituary and could not hold back my tears. A flood of memories came over me of you and Jesse, the Millers, Leathams, Hibbards, Workmans, etc. As a young child I remember you all coming to our home for "study group". My parents loved you all so much. 
I remember Jesse rewireing our home, for free!! He and my dad worked so hard to get us ready to welcome a new baby. Those several days were full of sweat and laughter and hard, hard work. Such a blessing to us.
I remember my long, comforting talks with you for many years after my parents' accident. I remember running into you both about town and Jesse's warm, genuine hugs. We loved him! We love you! You made our lives easier, happier and more meaningful. 
I'm comforted by thoughts of his happy reunion with George and Lillis---his good, good friends.
So sorry I missed his funeral.

Dear Audry and Family. Over the past nine years what a wonderful experience it has been to spend a couple of days a week with Jesse.Many stories have been exchanged and the time spent with him gave such a warm feeling. We pretty much made sure that we arrived at the hospital in time to visit, sometimes in the parking lot or hospital halls.I am truley going to miss my friend. Our sincere condolences to you and your family.

Tanny joins me in our expression of sympathy, we thought the world of Jess. He was a faithful Kiwanian and member of the human race. We are both down with colds and will not be able to join you at this time.

Audrey, Steve, Greg, Kirk and Jon I will miss Jess' friendship and laugh. I have known him my hole life and he is always someone I could turn to for advise. Boxwood will never be the same, not seeing him walk down the street or working in his yard.

I will always remember Bishop Davis as a loving and happy man.  Just as was written here, he was a worker and always seemed to be involved in serving and blessing the lives of others.  A true example of living the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I will forever be thankful for his great example.

Uncle Jesse was such a rock for our entire family and freely gave of his time and unfailing support throughout the years. I loved just talking with him and listening to his stories.  His laugh was infectious and he always made me laugh and feel loved.  I will miss him deeply. Cathy & Bishop Davis; I am sooo sorry to hear of your loss.  Reading your fathers obituary I get the distinct feeling that he was a very warm and loving man.  I have been recalling the telephone conversation you & I had shortly after my father passed away.  You indicated that you had never personally felt that loss but you witnessed Cathy's grieving process when her loved one passed away.  Let me just say I am sorry that you are now experiencing that grief and sense of loss.  I can honestly say I know how you feel.  Our dads were only 1 year apart in age.  And less than 2 weeks apart in leaving this mortal existance.  If or when you feel like talking I am certainly here and would love to help in any way I can.  You are an awesome person and that is such a reflection on your dad.  My Dad is where he wanted to be for more than 24 years; I hope the seperation from this world is a happy one for your father also.

One of the finest men and citizen I have ever met.

I was sad to hear of Bishop Davis' passing.  I remember as a child, all the primary kids made a big poster for him when he was having some heart problems.  I still have a picture of him grinning with that poster in my Book of Remembrance.  He was always such a jovial man and it was wonderful to see him when I would come back and visit the ward.  May the Lord bless and comfort you, Audrey and family.
