Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at the age of nearly 93. She was born in Evanston, Wyoming to James Murray Sharp and Mary (Mamie) Edith Byrne. June grew up in Piedmont and LeRoy, Wyoming, with her older sister Mary and her younger brother Bob. She went to her first 9 years of school in a one room school house, graduated from Evanston High School, and attended Brigham Young University. June was tough and gorgeous. She could hike, fish, swim and ride a horse though the wilds of Wyoming and get prettier as the day went on.
June married Donald (Don) Alma Christensen on December 31, 1943 in LeRoy, Wyoming. On April 18, 1945, Don was killed navigating a B-29 over Kyushu, Japan. One month later, their son Dennis was born.
June married Clayton Robbins on April 2, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. The family lived in Holladay, Utah, and welcomed a daughter Jennifer Anne to their family in 1963. June’s main focus was her children and home which was always open and welcoming to strangers and friends in need. June was an excellent seamstress and sewed many dresses and suits for children and grandchildren. Her embroidery was detailed and exquisite. She worked in many business ventures and was a cosmetic consultant. She and Clayton worked together in their construction company, hearing aide franchise, and Clayton’s art studio where she offered helpful artistic critique.
June was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served faithfully in various callings. June was an accomplished pianist, and one of her favorite callings was playing at the nursing home across the street from her home. She was also a member of the Ex-Libris Literary Club which helped her fulfill her love for classic literature and culture.
June is survived by her son Dennis J Christensen (Melinda) Robbins, and her daughter Jennifer Anne (Glen) West, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Lotus Park and A Step Forward for their care and concern during June’s final days.
