Lillian Lawrene Davis Hitchcock, 90, "Laurie" to all who knew her, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT. Laurie was born July 12, 1925 in Midvale, UT to Lawrence Davis and Emma (Schrader) Davis. She was the youngest of seven children, raised in Bountiful, and a graduate of Davis High School in Kaysville. She met her future husband, Edward Castle Hitchcock of Waltham, MA, during WWII at the Lincoln (NE) Army Air Corps base, and they were married on January 4, 1945. The couple returned to Utah and Salt Lake City in 1946 and resided there the rest of their lives. Laurie and Ed traveled extensively after their retirements: Asia, Europe, Russia, Scandinavia and more. She lived to be surrounded by friends and family, to dance, to entertain, and golf. Laurie worked at the University of Utah Medical Center for many years, from the 1970's through the 1990's. Laurie Hitchcock is survived by her sons William Lawrence Hitchcock of Sandy, UT; Edward Randolph (Gail) Hitchcock of Hot Springs Village, AR; Blake Castle Hitchcock of Salt Lake City, UT; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Edward; son Richard Michael Hitchcock; one grandchild; three older brothers and three older sisters.Services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 777 S. 1300 E., Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E. 500 South in Salt Lake City.
