Lupe V Romero

Lupe touched the lives of everyone that knew her. Her beautiful smile and spirited personality were adored by everyone! Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great, great-grandmother, 84, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013.

Lupe was born August 30, 1928 in El Rito, NM to Benigno and Carolina Gallegos Varoz. She moved to Salt Lake City with her family at the age of 13. Lupe married the love of her life, Victor Romero on October 8, 1946 in Salt Lake City. Together they had six wonderful children; Victor Jr. (Frankie), Carol Romero, Tandra Goodwin (Steve McGeeney), Larry, Jerry (Gayle), Annamarie (Pete) Kearns. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren; Sherina, Justin, Nick (Eric), Chance, Israel, Michelle, Ken, Arron, Isidro, LouGina, Hilarie, BreeAnn, Katie, Nicholas and Marissa, 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and 1 great, great-grandchild.

Survived by sisters: Ermie (Willie) Carrillo, Grace Moore, Linda Nelson, brothers: Jubie (Gaylene) Varoz, Joe (Loretta) Varoz, Stephen (Lurleen) Varoz and many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by: Parents; loving husband Victor; sister Patricia; brothers, Belarmino and Ben; Sons, Victor Jr. and Larry and special friend Albert.

Her family would like to thank her nurse Holly and all the special people at Legacy House South Jordan, where she spent the last 3 years of her life. Mom loved each and every one of you!

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Dr. Friends may visit from 1-2 P.M.
