Mary Nannette Brewer Anderson (“Nan”) was joyously reunited with her eternal companion and two sons on March 18,2022. She was born on February 1, 1929 to Herbert and Elean Brewer in Ogden Utah. She spent her early years dancing and playing piano duets with her sister Lugene. In 1948 she married Richard Burton Anderson in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a devoted wife, mother, “Nana”, and “Great-Nana” as well as a good friend to all. She loved the beauty of nature and was an expert gardener. Following in the footprints of her mother, Nan was active in and served as president of the Flora Culture Garden Club for many years. She participated as a judge in the Civic Beautification Program judging gardens all over the state and held a Life Membership in the Utah Associated Garden Clubs. Her involvement in the Salt Lake Tribune Spring Home and Garden Shows at the Salt Palace and the beauty of her personal home gardens demonstrated her love for flowers and beautiful landscapes. She was the epitome of service and caring for others. She loved and served many dear friends over the years. But her family always came first, and she was happiest when they were gathered together. Laughter, love, good food, and fun were always readily available in her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and sons Mark B. Anderson and Richard W. Anderson. She is survived by her daughter Katherine Pope (Steve) Oregon City, Oregon, and son Reid Anderson Pleasant Grove, Utah, daughters-in law Valerie Anderson, Salt Lake City, and Jackie Anderson, South Jordan, Utah, as well as 12 grand-children and 23 great-grand-children. Her life-long closest friend and sister Lugene Bowthorpe of Holladay, Utah also survives her as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Almaz Haile in Clackamas, Oregon for the loving and devoted care she gave Nannette over these past nine years. Words cannot express our gratitude for all you have done.
