

Husband, Father, Electrical Engineer, Ham Radio operator, Sunday School Teacher, Church
Council member, world traveler, lover of nature and music and photography, passed away at
Apple Village Assisted Living, Layton, Utah Dec. 15 at the age of 97.
He established homes in Virginia, Washington State, California, Colorado and Utah while
working for the National Park Service for 39 years.
He was married to Alice L. McFadden for 72 years, was father of 2 sons, David and John, with 8
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was born in Havanna, IL and raised on a chicken ranch in Tacoma, WA by Mr. Leslie and
Alma McFadden.
He and Alice traveled frequently to see family and pleasure. He pioneered many radio systems
and procedures during his career. He enjoyed projects such as building his own organ before
kits were invented.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 20, at 10:30am at Our Savior Lutheran Church located at 5560 So. 2300 W. in Roy, UT. Visitation begins at 9:30am at the church. Interment will be at the Ogden Cemetery, followed by a reception at the church. In place of flowers donations can be made to the church building fund.
