

Ray Morris Nilsson passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his beloved wife of 56 years on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Ray was born on February 6, 1932 in Pocatello, Idaho to parents Karl Vilhelm and Adlene Stewart Nilsson. He served in the Army, graduated from BYU, and worked for the University of California Riverside and the University of Utah. He loved to dance, fish, ski, and camp. Ray was a loving husband, a kind father, and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served with his wife in the Salt Lake City Temple and in the Texas Houston East Mission.
Ray is survived by his wife, Naoma Noorda Nilsson, and 8 children: DeAnn (Lyle) Burkhart, Renee (Steve) Scheidell, Ray Jr., Darren (Peggy), Leslie (Diane), Celeste (Scott) Buchanan, Danielle (James) Hunter, and Wendy (Nathan) Tueller. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Nilsson, 38 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
