
Shirley Phyllis Dexter Tuholski Reat passed away August 11, 2015, in Bountiful, Utah. She was 90 years old. She died from the effects of alzheimer's disease, and at the end, heart failure. She moved from Rotunda West, Florida, in May 2015, to Bountiful, Utah.
She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, April 18, 1925. She and her cousin, Richard Hopkins, were raised in the same house in Worcester, Massachusetts. She spent most of her adult life in Barre, Vermont, and then retired to Florida. She graduated from Endicott Junior College in May of 1945, and married David Tuholski the next month. He had just returned from Europe where he flew a P51 fighter plane, was shot down three times, and was a prisoner of war. She was an avid golfer and won many tournaments. She achieved a hole in one, and played golf into her 80's.
She was preceded in death by her first husband , David Chase Tulholski, in 1986, by her youngest son, Dana Tulholski, in 1997, her second husband, William Reat, in 2001, her oldest son, David Noyes Tulholski, in 2009. She is sorely missed by her cousin Richard Hopkins and his family in Utah.
