

1930~2013
Tommie Lee Gant passed into the Lord’s hands on July 15, 2013. He was born in Shaw, Mississippi on October 30, 1930 to Louis Sr. and Minnie Gant.
Tommie served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a well known and devoted Barber, Substance Abuse Counselor for the Veteran’s Administration and Motor Pool Operator for the Department of Natural Resources. He was a proud father to his children, adored his grandchildren, and made memories with them that will last a lifetime. He was a man who valued his lifelong relationships with friends, and will be remembered for his passionate and outgoing personality and ability to connect and relate to all those he came into contact with. He was a proud member of the Calvary Baptist Church and served on various ministries throughout the years. His faith and devotion will always carry on as a shining example for those he loved. While his soul rests in heaven, his imprint on life will carry on.
Tommie is survived by his children Alexander (Gabby) Zenner, Alicia (Jeff) Ryans, Dorothy (Bobby Sr.) Jiles, Jackie Gant and Larry Gant, brothers Harrison (Mildred) Gant and Willie Edward (Clodean) Gant, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Louis Gant Jr, and grandson Bobby Jiles Jr,
A Memorial Service will be celebrated in his honor, on Saturday July 20th at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 S State Street SLC, UT 84111.
