William A Holland

Feb. 17, 1931 – Sept 19, 2017

Bill Holland, 86, of West Jordan, UT, passed away on September 19, 2017 comfortably at home surrounded by his family. He fought a courageous battle with bone marrow leukemia.

Bill was born February 17, 1931 in Manassa, CO to Ivory and Lillie (Nance) Holland. He served his country in the U.S. Army from October 1951 – October 1953.

Bill married Janet Robertson on August 17, 1968 in Elko, NV. They were later sealed in February 1984 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bill worked @ Hill Air Force Base for 40+ yrs. Upon retirement, he began working @ Harmons for the next 25 yrs. Bill was a very hard worker and loved his jobs.

Bill absolutely loved his “fur babies”, Emmy and Ally. The girls definitely knew who had the treats. He was a major LA Dodgers’ fan and he would never miss a game on TV. He liked to fish and bowl. He enjoyed watching old John Wayne & Clint Eastwood movies. He loved his mother’s homemade caramel pie and yummy rolls. He found great satisfaction in keeping his vehicles immaculate at all times.

Bill liked black jelly beans, but really loved chocolate. However, his day was not complete if it didn’t include his AMAZING, REFRESHING & TOTALLY AWESOME “PEPSI”!!

Bill is survived by his wife, Janet, his daughter, Robin (David) Staples. Two grandsons, Brady (Allison) Staples, Zachary Staples, his brother Mace (Pat) Holland and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivory & Lillie Holland, his sisters, Jean Denning & Audrey Holland and brother, Larry Holland.

Visitation will be held 12:15 pm followed by Graveside Service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City.
