

Carl “Al” Biggerstaff, 77 went to his Lord, on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at his residence. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00PM Friday, July 15, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 9:30AM Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Belvedere Memorial Park.
Al was born November 15, 1933 in Lebanon, Indiana to Alpha Elice Biggerstaff and Adeline Marie (Gergan) Biggerstaff, both of whom preceded him in death.
Al served in the United States Air Force Reserves at Bunker Hill Air Force Base, Indiana from 1950 to 1953 and on Active Duty in the United States Air Force Security Service from 1953 until his retirement as Senior Master Sergeant (SMSGT) in January 1977. His Overseas tours included Ashiya AB, Japan (1954-1956); RAF Kirknewton, Edinburough, Scotland (1960-1963); Clark AB Philippines (1963-1967) and a second tour (1969-1970); Iraklion Air Station, Crete, Greece (1972-1976). His stateside tours included Lackland Air Force Base, TX: Keesler Air Force Base, MI; Brooks Air Force Base, TX; McChord Air Force Base, Washington; March Air Force Base, CA; the National Security Agency, Ft. George Meade, MD; and three tours here at Goodfellow Air Force Base (1967-1969, 1970-1972, & 1976-1977.) He was very proud of his services with the United States Air Force in the Security Services and Intelligence Fields.
After retirement, Al attended Angelo State University (1977-1981.) He was Sales Manager for Big K Cycle and Manager of Pinkies Liquor Store on Arden Road until he retired in 2003.
Al was a member of Leonard Wood Lodge No. 105 Philippines, raised to Master Mason June 29, 1965 and received his 32nd degree May 6, 1967 in the Valley of Manila, Philippines. He was also a long term member of the American Legion Post 113, Lebanon Indiana and the Air Force Sergeants Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Jean Biggerstaff. Survivors include his four children: Diana Jean Ross of Las Vegas, NV, Shanon Lyn Biggerstaff of Ozona, TX, Dane Allen Biggerstaff of San Antonio, and Kim Elaine Gosart and her husband Tommy Gosart of Rockport, TX. His brothers; Ted Biggerstaff of Lebanon, IN, and Tom Biggerstaff and his wife Arcie Biggerstaff of San Angelo, TX, a stepsister and her husband, Sharon and Toby McDaniel of Rochester, IL, Nephews; Doug Biggerstaff and wife Kim of Indianapolis, IN, Dave Biggerstaff and wife Sue of Lebanon, IN. Nieces; Kayla Carmichael and husband Tyler Carmichael of Speedway, IN and Kara Biggerstaff of Indianapolis, IN. Grandchildren include Jeremy Wallace of Seguin, TX and Joshua Gosart of Corpus Christi, TX, Brittany and Cody Biggerstaff of San Antonio, TX. He also survived by two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Dane Biggerstaff, Tom Biggerstaff, Jeremy Wallace, Joshua Gosart, Larry Gilbert, Joe Duncan, Steve Robles, and Patrick Gainey.
