Alice Barton

Alice Lee Barton, 93 of Big Lake, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. She was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on April 11, 1924. She was married to Alvin L. Barton on November 11, 1940. She was a devoted mother and minister’s wife until her husband’s passing on November 19, 2003. She was known for her famous peanut brittle around Big Lake. She was survived by her son Jim Barton Sr. and wife Madeline of Christoval, Texas; grandsons Tommy McNeil and wife Christie of Stiles, Texas, Donnie Hill of Big Lake, Texas, and Jimmy Barton and wife Trisha of Big Lake, Texas. She adored her great grandchildren Amanda Brinkley, Cody McNeil, and Baylee Barton all of Big Lake, Texas. She also leaves to cherish her memories numerous other great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter, son-in-law, a grandchild, and her siblings. Visitation for Mrs. Barton will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 6pm-9pm at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held for Mrs. Barton on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2pm in Big Lake at Glen Rest Cemetery with Pastor Tim Wood of San Angelo officiating.
