She was employed by Montgomery Ward's department store in the credit department until her retirement. While working full-time at Montgomery Ward's, she also worked part-time at Zentner's Steakhouse. Bernice was well known in the San Angelo community as a hostess for the Zentner family, working for both Zentner's Steakhouse and Zentners Daughter Steakhouse for a span of 50 years. She loved her job dearly and enjoyed meeting new people as well as catching up with the regulars. She enjoyed nothing more than getting "dressed to the nines" and going to work. She considered Zentner's Daughter, the employees and customers her extended family and she loved them dearly.
Bernice was preceded in death by her dear mother, Ethel Norris; and her beloved daughter, Diana Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Sprague and husband Ray of Breckenridge, Texas; and her two grandchildren, Holly Page King of Midland, Texas, and Trey Sprague and wife Heather of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her three great-grandsons, Jake, Caden and Parker, whom she loved dearly; and her fur baby, Prissy.
Please join us in remembering this wonderful woman we called Mother, Nana, Grand Nana and friend. In lieu of flowers, Bernice, being a devoted cat lover, has requested that donations be made to your local animal rescue groups or afavorite charity of your choice.
