Bessie May Ray

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 18th in Belvedere Memorial Park with Willie Wells officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.

Bessie was born November 3, 1937 in San Angelo to Willie Pete and Neely Bell (Chappell) Williams.

Bessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a godsend to all. She was very sweet, caring and loving to all that knew her.

Bessie was married to Raleigh B. Ray on June 22, 1955 in Aransas Pass, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sons James Morris and Leo Vernon Ray.

Survivors include one daughter Leita Ray Macon and husband Wesley of Lake Jackson; two sons Raleigh B. Ray, Jr. of Aransas Pass and David Lee Ray of Skidmore; sister Alice Omdal and husband Marvin of San Angelo; six grandchildren Patricia and Marvin, Jr. Simoneau, Crystal and Brandi Ray, Aubrey and Saibias Ray; three great grandchildren Ashton, Andrew and Kaelyn Simoneau and numerous nieces and nephews.
