Betty Sue Mitchell

Betty was born on August 10, 1937 to Lilly Maude and Leroy Taylor in Barnhart, Texas.

Betty was a loving wife, mom, granny, great-granny, sister and auntie.

She was a homemaker, past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Marvin; their daughter Cindy Mitchell of Big Lake, Texas, her daughter Linda Griffith of Barnhart, Texas and her son Lee Mitchell of Globe, Arizona; Sister Leona Snodgrass of Chico, Texas; Grandkids Jacy and J.L. Mankin of Big Lake, Texas, Bethany Hardison of Midland, Texas, Sam Odom Jr. of Palestine, Texas, Justin Odom of Marble Falls, Texas, Shawn, Rita Odom of San Angelo, Texas, Cody and Karli Mitchell of Iowa Park, Texas; Great grandkids Kenna and Landon Mankin of Big Lake, Texas, Dennis and Dakota Collins, Alexander, Shelby and William Odom all of San Angelo, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lilly Maude and Leroy Taylor, brothers JB and Bill Kuykendall, sisters Flora Smith and Josephine McNutt, two grandsons Scotty Odom and her precious Josh Mitchell.

Viewing will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church in Big Lake. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church in Big Lake, Texas. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake, under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Johnny Mitchell, J.L. Mankin, Austin Mitchell, Brandon Davenport, Tony Avalos and Red Collins.
