

She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on April 10, 1930 to J.S. and Allie Mae Toland. She graduated from Venice High School in Venice, Calif., and attended Angelo State University.
She married Elmer Lee Champion on April 28, 1951 in Eden, Texas. He preceded her in death June 21, 1990.
She married Elmer Crowder on October 12, 1996 in San Angelo, Texas. He also preceded her in death on June 14, 2002.
She is survived by her sister Beatrice Ellis of Eden, Texas; two daughters Mary Premo and husband Richard of San Angelo, Nell Anderson and husband Ricky of Georgetown, Texas and a son Brian Champion and wife Donna of Tucson, AZ. Billie’s large family includes nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Billie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She lived a life of Christian service and love.
Billie was an active member of the Johnson street Church of Christ, where she helped develop and teach the “Footprints of the Faithful” youth program. Billie was the Bronte Elementary School librarian for many years.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Johnson’s Funeral Home chapel in San Angelo, Texas followed by a graveside service at Bronte Cemetery, Bronte, Texas.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
