Camilo A. Escobedo Sr.

Camilo A. Escobedo, Sr., 86, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in Robert Lee, Texas. The Prayer Service will be 7:00 P.M., Friday, September 2, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Primera Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Cuellar officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Camilo was born July 18, 1925 in New Braunfels, Texas to Hilario and Ida Andreas Escobedo. Camilo was a lifetime resident of San Angelo. He worked for the City of San Angelo for many years and was a lifetime member of Primera Baptist Church. He married Ellen Aguirre in 1948 and they shared 49 beautiful years of marriage together before she preceded him in death in 1997. Camilo was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Ellen and two daughter’s Beatrice Torres and Sylvia Evridge. He is survived by his loving family, Sons, Camilo Escobedo, Jr., of San Angelo, Frank Escobedo, Sr., of Ft. Worth, TX, and Benito Escobedo, Sr., and his wife Linda, of San Angelo; his Daughter, Delia Mize, of Louisiana; 16 Grandchildren; 29 Great Grandchildren; 14 Great Great Grandchildren; his Brother, Alfredo Escobedo, Sr., of Abilene, TX; a very special Sister-in-law, Lilly Escobedo, of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and close friends. The pallbearers for the service will be his Grandsons. The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to all of the nursing Staff at Robert Lee Care Center and Hospice of San Angelo for all of their loving kindness, support and care. The family would also like to thank Hospice of San Angelo. Camilo was a loving father and grandfather and we will dearly miss him.
