

Charles Bruce Knight, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Feb. 28, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born in Merkel, Texas to his parents, Charles and Aileen Knight on Dec. 17, 1934. Bruce loved his country and served in the Naval Reserves. He attended Texas Tech University and went on to graduate from Hardin Simmons University with a Business Administration Degree. Bruce moved to San Angelo in 1978 where he worked for 40 plus years at Texas New Mexico Pipeline Company, from where he retired. After retirement, he worked part-time in Security at Baptist Memorial serving the clients there. Bruce had a true servants heart; always putting others needs and desires before himself. He was one of the most loving, gentle, and kind men around. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Aileen Knight. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda Knight, his four children Rodger Knight and wife Judy of Miles, Melinda Frantum and husband Keith of McKinney, Vickie Chester and husband Casey of McKinney, Robin Harmon and husband Brint of San Angelo. He had amazing grandchildren whom he loved dearly including Ashley Key and husband Luke, Taylor Frantum, Evan Frantum, Brynson Harmon and Logan Harmon. The prize of his life was his great-grandchildren, Oliva and Eden Key. All of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him such joy. Bruce is also survived by his younger brother Grady Childress Knight and wife Joyce of Merkel, Texas. He has two nephews Charles (Chuck) Knight and wife Cathy, Kelly Knight and wife Martina all of Merkel, Texas. Great nephews Justin Knight of Denver, Colorado; Jerrad Knight and wife Lisa and their daughter London of San Angelo; and Eric Salsberry of Merkel. He had a very close brother and sister in law, Patrick (Jerry) and Venita Spellman of Benbrook; and a niece Rhonda Reynolds and husband Jason and their two children Mason and Rachael of Cedar Park. Family was everything to Bruce. Bruce has chosen to donate his body to medical research with the Texas Tech Health Science Center Medical School Willed Body Program.
