This home became the place for annual July family gatherings, a place all his grandkids and nieces have many fond memories of swimming, games and his famous ribs and sausage. He also had a passion for muscle cars and was able to restore a few of these cars of which a few won 1st place prizes at some local car shows. Following his retirement Daryl was able to spend many hours with close friends and his sons and nephews down at the Texas coast fishing for Red Drum and spotted sea trout. Daryl and his brother in-law, Stacy Ganzin were partners in the Easy Catch catfish farm where they enjoyed several providing and fun and entrainment to the community. After retirement Daryl and Jill went on a 2-month adventure driving from San Angelo to Alaska and back through Canada and the Black Hills of the Dakotas.
