

She was born November 11, 1960, and was adopted by Blas and Clara Longoria. Debbie attended Irion County High School. She worked for the United States Postal Service in Mertzon and retired as the postmaster. Debbie married her best friend Rocky Elkins on March 27, 1978, and together they raised two sons.
Debbie was a proud member of IC Cares, EE Club, Child Welfare Board and Bunco Babes. She had a passion for life and people and organized many drives to fill the various needs of those in and around the community. She will always be remembered for her love for God and family, devotion to (and spoiling of) her grandkids, sense of humor, honesty and being the favorite Aunt Debbie.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, birth mother Sandy Gomez, mother-in-law Lorada Elkins; siblings: Donna Douglas, Elma Kendall, Anita Molina, Abel and Roy Longoria, and Joyce Leuders.
She is survived by her husband Rocky, their sons: Clayton and Amber Elkins and their children Brody, Aaron, and Jordyn; Christopher and Amby Elkins and their children Bella, Hailey, and Connor; siblings: Anna and Louis Dominguez, Don and Janice Douglas, Martha Longoria, Rudy and Cathy Longoria, and Joe Longoria, David and Sherri Elkins, Charlotte and Mark Hamilton, Darlene Grice, Charlene Holland, Todd and Michelle Elkins; and numerous nephews and nieces and many other friends that she considered family.
A Rosary will be held (to be determined)
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 11 at 1 P.M. at the FUMC of Mertzon, Family Life Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial donation to the American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Association, any of the clubs previously listed or a charity of your choice.
The family would also like to thank Debbie’s nephew Josh Longoria and wife Amber for everything they did for the family during this difficult time.
