Delma Featherston

He was born May 22, 1920 in Goldwaite, Texas, a third generation Mills County native, He was the son of A. K. and Alice Rose Featherston. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Asian and Pacific areas. He married Rutha Faye Mayes in 1942 and enjoyed 59 years together before her death in 2002. They enjoyed traveling throughout Texas and other states pulling their travel trailer with friends in the Good Sam Club. In 2004 he married Margaret Ward Baucum and they spent 9 happy years together before her deather in 2014.

He owned and operated Guess Service Station for a number of years and later worked for San Angelo ISD as a maintenance and grounds supervisor. He was a man of inbtegrity and a good father and paw paw.

He is survived by three children, Calvin (Martha) Featherston of San Angelo, Shela (Ken) Harriss of Brownwood and Leroy (Rhonda) Featherston of Red River, New Mexico as well as 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Eola Cemetery, Eola, Texas, Wednesday, August 19. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Harris Avenue Baptist Church, 1026 East Harris Avenue, San Angelo, Texas 76903.
