She was born on October 1, 1948 in San Angelo to Neal and Minnie (Smith) Pearce. After graduating from Central High School in 1966, she went on to study at San Angelo Business College. Donna began working for GTE (later Verizon) in 1978 and served as an executive secretary in San Angelo and Las Colinas until her retirement in 2003.
Donna was a proud volunteer at Meals for the Elderly until 2020 and an active member of Shannon Volunteers and the West Texas RSVP program. She was also involved in the planning committee for the CHS Class of 1966 reunions. Donna enjoyed reading, participating in the San Angelo Garden Club, playing bunco, and spending time with friends, family, and her beloved dog Annie. She will always be remembered for her tender and kind heart, her love and thoughtfulness for others, her fun-loving nature, and her fierce sweet tooth.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Minnie Pearce; brother, Michael Pearce, sister Patti Monroe, and former spouse Dennis Robison.
She is survived by her daughter Erin Gregg and husband Elgin of Lubbock; son Brian Burson (Monk Jeremiah) of Greece; loving partner David West of Mertzon; brother Danny Pearce; brother and sister-in-law Dale and Lana Pearce; brother Stephen Pearce; brother-in-law Sonny Monroe; former spouse John Burson; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Family visitation will be on Friday, March 3 from 5-7 p.m at Johnson’s Funeral Home, 435 W. Beauregard. Donna’s celebration of life will be at Belmore Baptist Church, 1214 Bell St., on Saturday, March 4 at 1 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM 1223.
