Gail Espy

She was born in San Angelo on May 2, 1950, to Sammie Jeanne (Allison) Espy and H. T. “Wampus” Espy. After attending Sonora schools, she graduated from Lubbock Coronado High School in 1968.

Gail was descended from several Sutton County pioneer families, namely the Allisons, Miers, Turneys and Espys.

Gail lived in Ruidoso, Southern California and Del Rio while following her horses. After a short time living in deep South Texas, she returned to the family ranch in Menard County to pursue another dream, ranching.

Survivors include her son, Victor Hugo Schoenewolf III (Tammy Baze) of Menard, her mother Sammie Espy of San Angelo, granddaughter Sloan Schoenewolf of Carta Valley and grandson Quade Schoenewolf of Abilene.

She was preceded in death by her father, her first husband Victor Schoenewolf, and her sister Allison Espy Powers.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to a dog rescue charity, or any charity of your choice.
