George will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend. George was a big teddy bear of a man, full of life and had a big, infectious laugh. He loved being around people. His love for others is shown by his donation of his organs so that others might continue to live.
George graduated from Central High School in San Angelo and went to work for Barry for 15 years. It was there that he met the love of his life and soulmate, Mary.
From there he continued with SAISD.
George was known for his cooking, especially his famous guacamole. I guarantee he will have a big bowl waiting for us when we get to Heaven! He was also known for his delicious caldo and famous grape delight.
George is survived by his wife Mary Lopez, son John Daniel Lopez, daughter Hannah Grace Lopez, bonus daughter Gabby Ortega, sister Yvonne Williams and husband Malcolm, brother Joseph Lopez, step-father Lupe Ortegon, father and mother-in-law Gilbert and Maria Juarez, brother-in-law Johnny Samaniego and wife Lynn, sister-in-law Ophelia Hernandez and husband Alex, sister-in-law Brenda Roe and husband Kevin, sister-in-law Norma Castillo and husband Adam. George is also survived by many much loved members of the Lopez, Trevino, and Juarez families. His aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews will miss him dearly.
George was born June 12, 1967, in San Angelo, Texas, to George Lopez Sr. and Mary Ellen Trevino Lopez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Aaron Lopez, paternal grandparents Antonio and Lala Lopez and maternal grandparents Juan and Benigna Trevino, whom he adored. George was the man he was because of his beautiful mother that he absolutely loved with all his heart. She was his angel. His grandparents had a big impact in his upbringing. He loved and respected them with all his heart.
Pallbearers will be Santos Herrera, Mark Durst, Christian Williams, Christian Guzman, Ryan Roe, Albert Garza, Joshua Velasquez, Tony Lopez, & Alex Hernandez Jr.
“The moment you left me, my heart was split in two, one side was filled with memories, the other side died with you. I often lay awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheek. Remembering you is easy. I do it everyday, but missing you is a heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain, you see life has gone on without you, but will never be the same.” Author unknown
