The Lord took a special angel home on June 8, 2016. Geraldine “Jerry” McKay, 85, of San Angelo went to meet her Savior. She was born on June 11, 1930, in San Angelo, Texas. Known as Jerry to most and Nanny to many, she was a sweet, kind and caring person. Jerry had a fun-loving spirit and was always ready for the next adventure. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and participating in their activities. She also loved her Lord and her church family at College Hills Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde McKay; son, Mark McKay; and grandson, Jerod Blakeney. Jerry is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Dan Ripple; grandsons, Josh McKay and wife, Jessica, and Jamey Haney; great-grandchildren, Madison Ollive, Gavin Blakeney, Jonah McKay, and Jerdan McKay; sister, Calline Hall; brother-in-law, Murray McKay; sister-in-law, Ada Fleming; many special nieces, nephews and other family members, including Rip Ripple and all the Ripple family, lots of good friends; and her daughter by choice, Terry Wiggins. The family thanks the staff at Baptist Retirement Community (Allison House) for loving Jerry and taking such excellent care of her. They were her second family and very special to her. Also, thanks to Hospice of San Angelo. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 11, 2016, at Fairmont Cemetery. Charitable donations should be made to West Texas Boys Ranch, Hospice of San Angelo, or your favorite charity. We love you Nanny, and we’ll meet you on the other side.
