Glenn Willis Mcknight

Visitation will be held Monday February 28th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 1st at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy Day officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, TX.

Glenn was born on December 7, 1935 in Fouke, Arkansas to Derwood and Ione McKnight. His family moved to Ballinger when he was a small child. He attended school in Ballinger.

Glenn married Jettie Kirkland on July 22, 1966 in Bronte. They were blessed with 40 years of marriage, before she preceded him in death on May 21, 2007.

He worked as a meat cutter for various places in San Angelo including Modern Way, Handy Packing, Safeway, Furr’s, M’System, Albertsons, HEB, M&M Grocery, Marx Street Grocery, Highland Grocery and Food Basket. He retired from Food Basket in 2004.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roy McKnight, Harold McKnight and Billy McKnight.

Survivors include one daughter Susan Melton and husband Stephen of San Angelo; brother Bobby McKnight of San Angelo; sister-in-laws Gwen Brice of Ballinger, Betty McKnight, Carolyn McKnight and Jeanie McKnight all of San Angelo. He is also survived by a special canine companion Precious.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes to express a special to Dr. Melott and Donna, to Shannon Home Health, TLC In Home Care, and Sagecrest for all of the love and care they provided to Dad.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church.
