Born in Pecos, Texas, on November 5, 1951, Gloria was the beloved daughter of Jose and Eloisa Medina. She grew up in West Texas and attended Fort Stockton High School. Gloria often said she earned her degree in Domestic Engineering from the "College of Life"—a testament to her wisdom, strength, and life experience.
Gloria built a successful career in logistics, working for Ethicon as a logistics and supply chain specialist. Dedicated and diligent, she brought excellence to her work while also being a devoted mother to her two children, Adrian and Sonya.
A proud member of LULAC, Gloria had a deep love for her community, her faith, and her heritage. She was known for her passion for serving others, including her missionary work in Mexico. Gloria also had a lifelong love of sports—especially volleyball and softball.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Eloisa Medina; her beloved daughter, Sonya Medina; her sister, Francis Perez; and her nephew, Dewayne Hernandez.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Adrian Medina, and daughter-in-law, Marie Medina; her cherished granddaughter, Avery Medina; her brothers, Miguel Angel Medina and Jose Miguel Medina; and her sisters, Esther Gutierrez, Carol Jimenez, Patricia Marquez, Leticia Cruz, and Norma Fuentes. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Johnson’s Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, August 16, at 3:00 PM.
The Medina family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered love, prayers, and support during this time of loss. Gloria’s legacy of faith, strength, and love will live on in all who knew her.
