Harold was born February 15, 1938 in Fauke, Arkansas to Derwood and Ione McKnight. At one year of age, his family moved to Ballinger, Texas where he attended Ballinger Schools. He started to work at a very young age delivering milk to homes in Ballinger. He continued his work in the shoe factory as he got older. He then went to work for Gabbertt Packing Company and started his career as a meat cutter. He worked for Handy Packing Company for 25 years and then changed his career by working at the San Angelo State School until his forced retirement in 1994 due to a back injury.
During his lifetime, Harold never met a stranger. He could start conversations with most everyone he met. He will be missed for his positive attitude, his smiling face even in the face of adversity.
Married to Carolyn Kotrlik for 51 years, he thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Kotrlik family and all of the wonderful years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Derwood and Ione McKnight, brothers Roy and Bill McKnight, brothers-in-law Richard and Robert Kotrlik.
