Helen Lucille Malechek Bradbury Robison Ribble passed away on June 19th, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born June 12, 1933 to Annie (Streb) and Gilbert Malechek on the home place in Concho County near Vick. She attended school in Eola for eleven years graduating as valedictorian of the class of 1950 at the age of 16. She graduated with honors from San Angelo College in 1952. While there she was a member of the Home Economics Club, Sigma Alpha Chi social society and Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. She attended Texas Tech in 1952-53, then returned in 1959 and graduated with a degree in Home Economics Education in 1960. At Tech she was a member of the Home Economics Club and Phi Upsilon Omicron honor society.
In 1954 she married Robert Charles Bradbury. They adopted two babies, Mark Allan Bradbury and Bobbi Dawn Bradbury. Robert passed away in 1972. In 1982 she married Wilson Robison who passed away in 1994. In 1995 she married Portis Ribble who preceded her in death in July 2020.
In 1960 she began teaching Home Economics at Central High School and remained there until her retirement in 1994. After her retirement she and Portis spent much time traveling the United States and many foreign countries.
She enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and relatives, working in her vegetable garden and flower beds. She also enjoyed needle work and sewing, especially for her granddaughters when they were small.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed participating in the activities of the church with her husband Portis, who was a retired minister.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Annie Malechek of Vancourt, Texas; older brother Dale Malechek of Fredericksburg, Texas; her three husbands, aunts, uncles, many cousins, grandparents and friends.
She is survived by her younger brother John Malechek and wife Karen of Logan, Utah; son Mark Bradbury and wife Kara of Oak Point, Texas; daughter Bobbi Thompson and husband Raphael of Newnan, Georgia; granddaughters Haley Green and husband Scott of Roswell, Georgia; and Alexis Casari and husband Kiel of Lexington, Texas; and great grandson, Layton Casari. She is also survived by stepchildren Darla Schitoskey and husband Terry, Bonnie Kennedy, and Charles Portis Ribble; and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday 26th of June at Johnson’s Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas.
