

Mrs. Imogene “Gene” (Samuel) Butler, 74, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 in a local hospital. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at New Light Baptist Church, with Reverend L.E. Pope, host pastor. Imogene was born February 2, 1942 in Cameron, Texas to Archie Lee and Annie Samuel. She attended school at Carver and Blackshear in San Angelo, Texas and graduated from Big Spring High. She then pursued her Nursing career in 1960. She occupied this career for thirty years. She attended New Hope Baptist Church as a child and did work in the church as Secretary for seven years. She is preceded in her death by her father, Archie Lee Samuel. Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Annie Bell Samuel; husband, Robert (Bobby) Butler, of San Angelo, Texas. Imogene had eight children; Tony Butler, Corbette Butler, Debra James, David Butler, Henry James, Ronald (Rocky) Butler, Vanessa James, Yolonda Paul, Karian Samuel; Thirteen grandchildren, Kenneth Harvey, Terrance Samuel, Tazz McCoy, Laticia Johnson, Kenneth Vaughn, Destinee Brooks, Jazminee Johnson, Mika Whisenant, Crystal Butler, Alecia Butler, Victoria Butler, Nicole Smith, Markees Butler; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many, many friends.
