James Joseph Russell Jr.

James Joseph Russell Jr. went to be with the Lord and Savior Monday, July 29, 2013. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Holy Angels Catholic Church , 2202 Rutgers, San Angelo, Texas, officiated by Father Charles Greenwell. Joe played football at San Angelo Central and earned a scholarship to play at Texas A&M University. He completed his education in January 1955, at Texas Tech University. Joe was born in San Antonio, Feb. 27, 1932, to Margaret Waring Russell and James J. Russell Sr. He married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart Helene Hope Schuch, Dec. 29, 1950. Preceding him in death was his infant daughter, Margaret Cecile Russell. His children include Eddie Russell of San Angelo, Angela and Pete Case of Eldorado and Bill and Grace Russell of Austin. Grandchildren include Tiffany Case, Kayla Case, Katerina Russell, James Russell, Natalia Russell, Stephen Russell, Andrew Russell and Jewel Russell. He is also survived by his brother, Lee Waring Russell and wife Geneva. He will live on in his family and friends' memories as being a friendly and fun individual who was always full of mischief. Through all of his antics though, a genuine loving heart was always present.
