

Jerry was born in San Angelo, Texas on October 26, 1943 to the late Monico & Francisca Jaques.
On August 22, 1969, he married his beautiful wife of 51 years, Elma Bermea Jaques.
Together, they raised their family while Jerry worked their construction businesses Jaques Construction Company and J&E Construction for a total of 25 years before retiring to work on his home and hobbies and his new job of keeping Elma happy. Jerry was a gentle soul, always smiling and happy. He was generous and kind and always willing to put his tools to good use building items for Elma to bring to church. He was creative and talented using his gifts to help his grandchildren with many school projects. He loved to sit around the dining room table and share a meal with family or friends and just sit and visit about what was going on in the world, or tease you and tell jokes.
Jerry’s memory will be kept alive by those who survive him…his loving wife and longtime caretaker, Elma Jaques, One brother, Monico “Jr” Jaques, One daughter, Linda Rodriguez, Grandchildren: Jessica (Bianca) Tarin, Priscilla (Robert) Mejia, and Michael Borjas. Great Grandchildren: Jordyn (Greg) Garcia, Hailie Garcia, Aiden Rodriguez, Sergio Mejia, Robert Mejia, Tristan Mejia, Deztnie Borjas, Yazmin Borjas, LCPL Robert Jio, and Cameron Carson. Great-Great Grandchildren: Gregorio “GP3” Ponce III and Royal Sullivan, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Monico & Francisca Jaques, brothers, Jesse Jaques, in death by his parents, Monico & Francisca Jaques, brothers, Jesse Jaques, Manuel Jaques, Ernest Jaques. Sisters, Aurora Garcia and Emelia Luna. Daughters, Esther Jaques and Elizabeth “Betty” Bastardo. Son-in-Law, Tommy Rodriguez, and Granddaughter, Stephanie Rodriguez.
Jerry was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Owned and operated Jaques Construction Company and J & E Construction. He was a member of LULAC Council #637.
Jerry loved God, loved his family, and loved life. He will live in our hearts and memories forever…
Public viewing will be on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 435 West Beauregard Avenue, San Angelo, Texas. Rosary will be held on July 8, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 9,2021 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 7 West Avenue N, San Angelo, Texas.
We are especially grateful to the staff at Shannon Medical Center, Dr. Stevenson, Dr. Untalan and Kindred Hospice, also to Nelda Williams, Kathy Hernandez and Rosalinda Rodriguez with Shannon Wound Care for their incredible love and care of Jerry. The family appreciates all of the prayers, food, flowers, and love extended to us during this time.
