

Jerry Dean Flowers, Sr., 62, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at his home in San Angelo, Texas. Prayer service will be Friday, September 23, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Centro Cristiano Hosanna. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Centro Cristiano Hosanna with Pastor Juan Rivera officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Jerry was born April 12, 1949 in Amarillo, Texas. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas where he attended Central High School. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps where he served a tour in Vietnam from 1967- 1968. He received the Purple Heart and other laudatory awards for his service. After spending ten years in the Marines and the United States Navy, he moved back to San Angelo where he spent many years of Employment as the cafeteria Manager at Angelo State University. Jerry married Imelda Dominguez on November 4, 1972, and they shared 38 wonderful years of marriage together. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and grandfather who devoted himself to his family. Jerry served as president of the Vietnam Veterans of America Concho Valley Chapter 457 and was a faithful member. Jerry was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars San Angelo chapter. Jerry was also a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Jerry was an active member of the Centro Cristiano Hosanna church where he was faithfully obedient to his Lord.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Jerry is survived by his loving family: wife Imelda Flowers of San Angelo; mother Willie (Sally) Alberta Workman of San Angelo; his children, Jerry Dean Flowers, Jr. of Killeen, Texas, Tracy Thomas Flowers of Carlsbad, Texas, Brian Xavier Flowers of San Angelo, Texas; his grandchildren, Jonathan Alexander Flowers of San Angelo, Texas, Giovanni Xavier Flowers of Navarre, Florida and Jordan Anthony Flowers of Tacoma, Washington; his brother Terry Flowers and his wife Sue of Lubbock, Texas, Tommy Workman and his wife Lynda of Allentown, Pennsylvania and Thomas Workman of San Angelo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and my great friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jerry Flowers, Jr., Paul Anthony Mesta, Jonathan Alexander Flowers, Randall Blue, Daniel Flowers and Ramon Arredondo.
Memorial in Jerry’s memory may be given to Hospice of San Angelo at P.O. Box 471, San Angelo, Texas 76902 and the American Cancer Society.
