Jimmy Lee McGee

Jimmy Lee McGee of Odessa passed away on Saturday May 18, 2024. He was born 11-20-1952 in Odessa TX, to Mr. and Mrs. Johnny McGee. Jimmy attended Odessa High School and graduated in 1971. He then began his career in the oilfield, working for Miether Machine as a maintenance man, then at J&L Machine as a rig mechanic. A jack of all trades, he then pursued a career in real estate. He was also an Army Veteran.

Jimmy married Janis Kaye Wimberley on June 19, 1971 and they had two children. Jimmy's main passion was spending time with his grandkids and watching them at multiple sporting events.

Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church in Junction TX on June 24, 2024 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to any cancer foundation. The family thanks everyone for their continued prayers and kind words.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife Janis McGee, Mother Pat McGee, Father Johnny McGee, father-in law Dub Wimberley, mother-in-law Leona Wimberley, brother-in-law Joe Halford and several grandparents, aunts and uncles.

He is survived by son Joel McGee, daughter Jana McGee, grandchildren Taylor House and Wife Samantha, Katelan House and Fiance Cristian Gallegos, Madison McGee, Emily McGee, Kobe McGee, and Amelia McGee, brother Jerry McGee & wife Nikki, sister-in-law Cathe Halford, brother-in-law Kevin Wimberley and wife Tonia, as well as many nieces and nephews.
