Joe Sarsoza Torres, 74, of Eola, TX passed away on October 27, 2020. He was born April 9, 1947 in Eola, TX to Lorenzo and Eugenia Torres. Joe was well known in the community and touched so many lives. He worked a variety of jobs from sheep shearing to driving alfalfa tucks in the Texas Panhandle, he worked for the government housing, became a deputy sheriff in Runnels County and worked in the cement company in Ballinger, TX. Joe then became self-employed and started his own concrete business. He was also a volunteer in the Eola Fire Department and served in the Eola Water Supply Board. Joe is survived by his beloved wife Mary A. Torres; his children daughter Joyce Saucedo and husband Lucino Saucedo, daughter Amelia “Molly” Torres, daughter Ann Maria Hart and husband Stan Hart, daughter Rachel Martinez and husband Javier Martinez, son Joe Daryl Torres and wife Luz Alma Torres; grandchildren Maria Saucedo and fiancé Arturo Rojas, Lucino H. Saucedo and wife Kaye Elizabeth Saucedo, Miguel Angel Torres Martinez, Sofia Isabella Martinez, Ashley A. Nunez and Emmanuel Aguilera; great grandchildren Atalina M. Saucedo, Audrina N. Saucedo, Araceli H. Saucedo, Elisha N. Nunez and Jessamy A. Nunez.; brother Senon Torres and sister Maria Castillo. He is preceded in death by his parents Lorenzo and Eugenia Torres; his sister Amelia Torres; his brothers Mario Torres, Efrain Torres, Alfredo Torres and Ernest Torres, Sr. A rosary will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Johnson’s Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Eola, TX. He will be laid to rest in Eola and Mereta Cemetery.
