Laura Bee Murphy

Laura Bee Murphy, 95, of San Angelo, Texas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in Johnson's Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, directed by Johnson's Funeral Home. Laura Bee was born March 8, 1918 in Benoit, Texas. She married W. R. (Bud) Murphy, Jr. June 3, 1936. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and reading. Her children considered her a "garage sale" queen. She was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. R. (Bud) Murphy Jr., her parents Charles and Cora Gibson, two brothers Milton and Buster Gibson and two sisters Ethel Martin and Dorothy Moody. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Linda and Richard Boydston of Georgetown, TX, Becky and Gary Sparks of San Angelo, TX and one son David Murphy of Georgetown, TX; seven grand children: Lee Anne Boydston, Jeff Boydston, Shannon McCartney, Angela Kuzins, Kaleigh Williamson, Brittney Sparks and Amanda Sparks; seven great-grandchildren: Madison McCartney, Aiden McCartney, Evan Kuzins, Rebecca Kuzins, Trey Kuzins, C.J. Kuzins, Logan Williamson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be dearly missed by many close friends and acquaintances. The children of Laura Bee would like to extend a special "thank you" to Jamye, Helen, Peggy and Delaine of Odyssey Hospice as well as Dr. Chris Barnett and his staff.
