

Lauro A. Alaniz, 78, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2012 in San Angelo. (The Prayer service will be 6:30 P.M., Sunday, at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. ) The Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 23, 2012 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel With Rev. Robert Cuellar officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Lauro was born on September 13, 1933 in Odem, Texas to Jesus and Eliza Flores Alaniz. He was a butcher at Armour Meat Packing for many years and retired from there. Lauro married Josephine Diaz on January 21, 1967 and they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage together. Lauro was a kindhearted person who always thought of others before himself. He never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh and was especially considerate of others around him. Lauro enjoyed spending time with children and especially his grandchildren. He was very mechanically inclined and liked working on cars and being outdoors. Lauro was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and we will dearly miss him. He is survived by his loving family, Wife, Josephine Alaniz, of San Angelo; his children, Berta Alicia Crim, of Del Rio, TX, Blanca Gonzalez and her husband, Salvador, of San Angelo, Martha Eliza Moreno and her husband Danny, of San Angelo, and Jorge Luis Daiz, of Midland, TX; 11 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren; his Sisters, Oralia Saldana and her husband Frank, of Corpus Christi, TX., Elida Gonzales, of Houston, TX., and Lydia Miranda, of California; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and close friends. Pallbearers for the service will be Salvador Gonzalez, Sr., Salvador Gonzalez, Jr., Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Danny Moreno, Gabriel Moreno and Robert Luis Rangel. The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to Dr. D Marsh and staff, Dr. Cortney Jones and Melanie for all of the loving care and support and also to J.T. Tucker and Amy at Odyssey Hospice formerly VistaCare Hospice in San Angelo.
