Leora Swaringin

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 17th at Johnson's Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, January 18th in Johnson’s Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Leora was born January 22, 1915 in Coleman County, Texas to James and Mattie Rowena (Lewellan) McClain. She was a resident of San Angelo since 1944 and retired, 1987, as a school cafeteria employee having worked at Goliad Elementary and Holliman Elementary.

Leora was married to Thomas B. Swaringin on June 29, 1935 in Coleman County, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, one great granddaughter Amanda Crownover and one great grandson Jeremiah Swaringin.

Survivors include her son Jim Swaringin and wife Gwen of San Angelo; five grandchildren Sonja Crownover and husband Doug of Spring Branch, TX, Wayne Swaringin and wife Lee of San Angelo, Crystal Martin and husband Heydon of Allen, TX, Tisha Davis of Roanoke, TX, and Jennifer Kitten of San Antonio; 13 great grandchildren DeAnn Mcadoo and husband Bernard, Oscar Favila, Austin Crownover and wife Rachel, Macy and Shayla Kitten, Stephen, Stephanie, Brittney, Brooke and Bethaney Swaringin, Mikayla and Lillian Martin and Caelin Davis; three great great grandchildren Jolie and Jaxson Mcadoo and Uriah Crownover.

Pallbearers will be Doug and Austin Crownover, Oscar Favila, Stephen Swaringin, Bernard Mcadoo and Heydon Martin.
