Lois Marie Cornelius Thornton

A Memorial Service for Lois Thornton will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday May 4th at the First Christian Church, 29 North Oaks Street, San Angelo, TX 76903. Rev. Ben Hubert will officiate. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.

Lois went to be with her sweetheart on April 30th, after a courageous struggle against the effects of a disabling stroke she suffered on April 20th and joined her savior Jesus Christ. She was 83.

Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Willie Dale Thornton, also her mother Cora, father James Cornelius, and three brothers and six sisters.

Lois is survived by three sons: her eldest son Kenneth Dale Thornton and wife Debra and their two sons Eric and Cole and their grandson Dakota; son Dennis Doyle Thornton and wife Debra and their children Jennifer Thornton ,Tamara Thornton Weenig and husband Marcus and their four children Maddison, Avery, Owen and Drew; granddaughter Melissa Thornton Carlile and husband BlakeI and their two children Ellis and Olivia; granddaughter Nichole Thornton Meisenbach and husband Daniel and their three children Carter, Turner and Lacy, all of Southern Calif.; granddaughter Michelle Thornton Pittman and husband Chris of Frisco, TX; grandson Jeff Thornton of Southern Calif.; youngest son Larry Brent Thornton and wife Katherine and their four children Jason Thornton and wife Sandy, Christina Thornton Smith and husband Shane, Summer, Garrett and his seven children: Elizabeth, Amber, Shamara, Richie, Katlyn, Sierra and Troy; and her daughter, Sharyn Gale Thornton Earehart and her husband Daniel.

The Thornton children wish to thank all who helped their mother, especially Sharyn and her husband Danny who moved to San Angelo from Michigan to care for Lois and resettled their lives here 9 years ago.
